To make your Tour of Lake Annecy a real favourite, follow these little tips: start your tour clockwise, which will allow you to drive on the water side after Talloires; start in the morning before the heat; leave the main road at the fourth kilometre, after the small climb to Chavoire (a sign invites you); and take what you need to swim! While waiting for the major improvement works announced, the 3 km on the main road between Menthon-St-Bernard and Talloires will require all your vigilance (especially in the strong narrow and tortuous descent of Talloires). The rest is a dream, both along the eastern shore of the Petit lac, where there are many good swimming spots, and on the greenway built on a former railway track. There are toilets and a water point in the old Brédannaz station, then a fountain after the Duingt tunnel, at the foot of a climbing wall where you will see climbers at work, and a second fountain in St-Jorioz. You will also find several picnic tables here and there. Your tour will end after bypassing the port of Annecy, crossing the park of the Town Hall and crossing the footbridge of Les Amours, which will take you back to the lawns of Le Pâquier.

Le Semnoz on the heights of Lake Annecy
The whole circuit is in the undergrowth, very appreciable in hot weather. The roads are never very greasy in the aftermath of rain, so they can be used most often. Be careful however on wet ground, many roots and some slabs are slippery, but should delight those who like technical paths.
The Semnoz by Sous les Becs
Being well aware of the type of hike that this route is, there can be a push on about thirty meters at the top of the path of "Sous les Becs" and arriving at the "Rond Point des Écureuils".
Otherwise, there is no problem of crossing but rather a risk of loss of adhesion on roots or stones.
Descent of the Semnoz
Superb descent by this route which combines both technical passages and rolling sections. The terrain is very varied but always remains very pleasant, both in difficult and rolling sections.
Most of it takes place in the undergrowth, and only a few points offer a view of Lake Annecy. The descent can be done 2-3 times in summer, when the bus is available! However, a set of spare inserts should be provided in this case.1420
Col de Chérel - La Combe d'Ire
Easy stroll in the Bauges massif inside the hunting and wildlife reserve, first on a paved road closed to traffic and then on a forest track. The climb is on the road. Possibility to cut some laces at the beginning of the descent. At the pass, beautiful view of the Jarsy valley, the Trélod and the Arcalod.
Go through Doussard then Chevaline, towards the Combe d'Ire.
